He founded Quality Partners in 2015 and has served as Principal Consultant, Quality Management & Process, and is currently looking to expand his services. During the nine years, Shervey provided clients with recommendations for process improvement solutions aligned with their long-term goals, increased efficiency, and improved customer satisfaction. Shervey also authored quality manuals, policy documents, flow charts, and technical work instructions.

His Work in the Semiconductor and Aerospace Industries

Shervey’s career spans 15 years in the semiconductor industry and eight years in aerospace.

Rolf George Shervey worked in key positions for Rudolph Technologies, now Onto Innovation, for over 14 years. From 2012 to 2015, Shervey led Rudolph Technologies to its first-ever ISO 9001 International Quality Management Systems certification and was promoted to Quality Systems Manager of the 600-plus employee company with locations in the U.S. and multiple foreign offices. In this role, he reduced spending by $364,000 in one year via efforts to cut PCB assembly costs. He recruited and matrix-managed 14 internal quality auditors across geographically distributed business unit locations.

Prior to his promotion to Quality Systems Manager, Shervey was the Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He authored internal quality manuals, developed quality improvement and assurance processes, and liaised with third-party certification auditors.

He began his career as a Senior Applications Engineer at Rudolph Technologies, where he operated and inspected onsite meteorology equipment in an academic research setting with SEMATECH, the semiconductor industry consortium at SUNY Albany, New York. He also experimented with new sensor technologies, coordinated over 20 installations, process integrations, and buffs of $1M to $5M worth of equipment, liaised with potential commercial partners, and collaborated with industry experts. Shervey also trained clients in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and Europe on setup, support, and integration for semiconductor defect inspection equipment and yield control software packages.

While Shervey was working with SEMATECH, he was recognized as the “Who’s Who In Engineering” (2011).

Shervey’s professional career has also included working at Sonitor Technologies as a Senior Applications Engineer and Technical Support Manager after being recruited by a former customer to join the high-technology, Norwegian startup company with U.S. satellite offices in Florida.

Shervey was also a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Quality Systems and a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Supplier Recovery at Honeywell International. His contract work included serving as a Regional Subcontracts Manager for United Launch Alliance/Verify, Inc., and a Production Quality Engineer for Airbus Oneweb Satellites, LLC.

In the Navy: Shervey’s Military Service

Rolf George Shervey enlisted in the Navy after graduating from high school. He was a U.S. Navy Nuclear Reactor Operator, Submarines, and a decorated sailor. While in the Navy, he was fortunate to live in several locations nationwide. As a civilian, he continued to do so as companies sought his expertise and paid to relocate him.

Shervey’s Education: Obtaining His Degree While Working

Shervey received his Bachelor of Science in Global Management from the University of Phoenix in Tempe. He studied and received his degree while working and traveling full-time worldwide, installing, maintaining, programming, and repairing semiconductor manufacturing defect inspection/quality control capital equipment for Rudolph Technologies post-service in the Navy.

His certifications include Nuclear Electronics Technician Maintenance Supervisor (ETMS) Training, US Navy, and Naval Nuclear Electronics Training, Submarine Reactor Operations & Maintenance, US Navy. He successfully completed training and certification to lead audits of quality management systems under ISO 9001:2008 standards. Certified by Exemplar Global; certification expired in 2019.

Shervey’s Personal Life: A Strong Christian Faith, A Commitment to Helping  Veterans

Shervey was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and lives in Melbourne, Florida. A man of deep Christian faith, he is a practicing Roman Catholic and attends Mass regularly.

He is an active and long-time member (over 15 years) of The American Legion, a member and donor (seven-plus years) of the Heritage Foundation, and a member (over 15 years) of the Wounded Warrior Project.

He deeply cares about civil society, human rights, economic empowerment, arts and culture, and international relations.

Shervey’s hobbies include travel, writing, cooking, photography, nature, and the outdoors.

His Writings

Shervey writes about causes he truly cares about, including topics related to Veterans Affairs, Veterans Mental Health/Suicide Prevention, the Wounded Warrior Project, Flanders Fields, Til Valhalla Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and American Legion.

Flanders Files helps veterans get off the streets and/or deal with addiction. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation helps America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children. The Til Valhalla Project delivers free memorial plaques to the families of Fallen Heroes, works to reduce veteran suicide, and inspires others toward positive mental health.
